Residents in NYC recycle about half of what they can, and OROE is hitting the streets of the five boroughs to help NYC do even better. We need YOU to join our dedicated team of volunteers who donate time and talent to help spread the word!
Volunteers are highly encouraged to attend one of our monthly Recycling Outreach Volunteer Orientations.

Join more than 25,000 New Yorkers - including over 1,600 breast cancer survivors - at this annual event in Central Park and help run breast cancer out of town! 8 of GrowNYC's Greenmarkets offer drop-off points for textiles recycling. Volunteers can help these collections sites serve more people by spreading the word. Spend time at the collection table or flyer around the market. For days, times and locations visit www.GrowNYC.org/clothing. To volunteer, contact us with the day/date and time that you are available.
OROE works in many Spanish-speaking areas in NYC and can use volunteers for jobs such as bilingual workshops, street fairs and the translation of signs and flyers. Contact us if we can call on you to help!
Our monthly crash course will prepare you for volunteering with us out in the field. We'll review what's new with recycling in NYC and give you tips and tools for teaching others to recycle. Meet other volunteers, sign up for events and enjoy pizza and other refreshments. Please note: all GrowNYC volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Next Volunteer Orientation: Wednesday, August 18, 2010, 6:30pm-8pm by City Hall/Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan. For more details and to RSVP contact Layman Lee at 212-676-2081 or via email.
